Medix Infusion is growing and we need to add a Scheduling Coordinator to our Patient Services Team! Join the Scheduling Team as a dedicated scheduler. Main contact for all interactions with care team members. Work as a team to ensure adherence to Company policies associated with record establishment, retention, maintenance and confidentiality. Ideal background as an Administrative Medical Assistant working in back office clinic or physician office is ideal for this role.
General Description
The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, rescheduling, and cancelling patient infusion appointments. The Scheduling Coordinator must communicate professionally to referral sources and patients. The Scheduling Coordinator will work closely with the Insurance, Intake, Pharmacy, and Clinical departments in managing patient care while promoting compassionate high-quality standards.
Work Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in medical insurance verification, patient scheduling, Medical Assistant, or other healthcare environment required.
- Medical Assistant with 2 years office experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be organized and work well under fast paced conditions.
- Schedules and reschedules patient appointments according to the physician order.
- Cancels appointments as directed and complete appropriate patient follow-up.
- Reviews patient medical records and orders prior to their upcoming appointment to ensure orders are valid, future appointments are scheduled, and overbooking of the schedule has not occurred.
- Update schedules as changes occur and follow up with any identified deficiencies in the scheduling process.
- Coordinates patient care with multi-disciplinary teams including pharmacy, insurance, and third-party entities.
- Communicates new patient appointments with referral sources.
- Completes follow-up tasks as assigned.
- Assures work is completed in a timely manner to prevent delays in patient care.
- Attends departmental meetings and in-services as requested.
- Assists with orientation and training of staff.
- Demonstrates courteous, compassionate, and professional behavior at all times.
- Proficient in computer skills regarding Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel.
- All other assigned duties.
