Manager, Clinical Initiatives & Implementation
Enable Dental
Austin, TX, USA
USD 90k-120k / year
Location: Remote, with occasional travel
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Chief Clinical and Innovation Officer
Position Overview
Enable Dental is seeking a Manager, Clinical Initiatives & Implementation to help lead the planning, execution, and scaling of clinical, operational, technology, vendor, and care-delivery initiatives across the organization.
This role is designed for a clinically informed, execution-oriented leader who can take complex or ambiguous priorities and convert them into practical workflows, implementation plans, SOPs, decision documents, training materials, vendor evaluations, and measurable outcomes.
The ideal candidate has experience in dental or healthcare operations, clinical project management, process improvement, software or vendor implementation, and cross-functional change management. This person should be comfortable managing a focused portfolio of initiatives, typically one to three active projects at a time, depending on complexity.
This is not a traditional coordinator role. The Manager, Clinical Initiatives & Implementation will be expected to directly produce high-quality work product, synthesize information quickly, support decision-making, and help move initiatives from concept to execution.
Role Scope
This role may support a broad range of initiatives related to clinical operations, patient care delivery, provider workflows, vendor performance, software adoption, quality improvement, data visibility, operational efficiency, compliance support, training, and scalable care model development.
Specific project areas may evolve over time based on company priorities. The successful candidate must be able to operate across a wide variety of clinical and operational domains while maintaining discretion, adaptability, and a bias toward execution.
Key Responsibilities
Initiative Planning and Execution
- Lead assigned clinical, operational, technology, vendor, or care-delivery initiatives from discovery through implementation.
- Translate broad leadership priorities into clear project plans, workstreams, timelines, risks, decisions, deliverables, and success measures.
- Manage one to three active initiatives at a time, depending on project complexity and organizational priority.
- Coordinate cross-functional work with clinical leadership, operations, field teams, technology, compliance, procurement, finance, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
- Identify blockers, decision points, dependencies, and implementation risks early.
- Ensure projects move from discussion to documented decisions, action plans, pilots, rollout, measurement, and refinement.
Work Product and Deliverable Creation
The person in this role must be able to produce practical, polished, and usable deliverables, including:
- SOPs and workflow documents
- Implementation plans
- Pilot protocols
- Vendor evaluation summaries
- Business cases and recommendation memos
- Training guides and job aids
- Project charters
- Requirements documents
- Workflow maps
- Decision logs
- Meeting summaries
- Rollout playbooks
- Data summaries and analysis briefs
- Post-implementation reviews
- Executive updates and presentation materials
The expectation is that this person will not only organize the work but also create the materials needed to drive implementation.
Clinical and Operational Workflow Improvement
- Evaluate current-state workflows and identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency, quality, provider experience, team experience, or patient outcomes.
- Develop future-state workflows that are realistic for field teams and scalable across multiple markets.
- Partner with subject matter experts to ensure clinical initiatives are operationally feasible, compliant, measurable, and aligned with company standards.
- Support the development and standardization of clinical workflows, documentation processes, training resources, and implementation practices.
Vendor, Software, and Technology Implementation
- Support evaluation, selection, pilot design, implementation, and optimization of vendors, software tools, technology platforms, and operational solutions.
- Develop vendor comparison frameworks that account for clinical fit, operational impact, cost, scalability, workflow burden, integration needs, user adoption, compliance, and expected value.
- Coordinate vendor demos, pilot planning, training, rollout, adoption tracking, and post-implementation evaluation.
- Help determine whether tools and vendors are producing measurable value or creating unnecessary complexity.
Data Synthesis, Analysis, and Decision Support
- Use available clinical, operational, vendor, financial, or workflow data to inform project planning and recommendations.
- Define baseline metrics, success measures, adoption indicators, and post-implementation review criteria.
- Partner with analytics resources when deeper reporting or dashboard development is needed.
- Synthesize imperfect or fragmented information into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Present findings in formats that help leadership make timely and informed decisions.
Generative AI-Enabled Execution
This role requires strong, practical experience using generative AI and large language models as part of daily work.
The successful candidate should be able to use AI tools to rapidly accelerate:
- Data synthesis
- Literature or market research summaries
- Vendor comparisons
- Meeting synthesis
- SOP drafting
- Workflow documentation
- Requirements gathering
- Executive summaries
- Decision memos
- Training content
- Project planning
- Risk identification
- Analysis presentation
- Communication drafts
- Implementation playbooks
The expectation is not simply that the candidate has experimented with AI tools, but that they can use generative AI responsibly and effectively to increase the speed, quality, and clarity of project output.
The purpose of AI use in this role is to reduce administrative drag so the candidate can operate at a higher level: applying clinical judgment, organizing complex work, facilitating decisions, evaluating tradeoffs, coordinating stakeholders, and driving implementation.
Candidates should understand how to use AI while maintaining appropriate judgment, confidentiality, accuracy, source validation, and compliance awareness.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in clinical project management, healthcare operations, dental operations, implementation management, process improvement, clinical transformation, or a related role.
- Experience working in or closely with the dental field, dental service organizations, mobile dentistry, community-based care, specialty dental services, or healthcare delivery operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead clinical or operational initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Experience creating SOPs, workflows, training resources, project plans, implementation guides, analysis briefs, or executive-ready deliverables
- Experience evaluating or implementing vendors, software tools, workflows, or operational processes.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to turn complex information into clear, usable documents.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities without excessive supervision.
- Practical experience using generative AI tools in daily professional work to improve speed, synthesis, analysis, documentation, and communication.
- Ability to work effectively with clinical providers, operational leaders, vendors, technical teams, and executive stakeholders
